Project Firsts

It's really happening! The project is really coming true. With the start of any project, there's some firsts...here they are.

First book scanned:

First book reread:

I don't know yet when I will find one of the books I have yet to read...it may be a while. I'll post about it when I do.

Scan Catchup - Simpsons

I showed #238 in my Milestone post, but here are the rest.

Milestone!

Today I hit 7500 comics in my collection. It has been a lifetime- I began in this hobby on 10/23/1984, I was 5 days old. Although my collection is "only" 7500 comics, I do have access to read a collection about double the size of that...they aren't mine, but I can read them.

Here is a breakdown of my collection, screencapped from Excel. The columns labeled "new" tell how many I got since the last update...there have been several updates since then but I didn't delete them because I enjoy seeing the numbers. The 734 update was everything new from 2004-10. The 718 was from 2010-15. during that time I was collecting the Green Lantern titles from DC which padded the number.

This was book #7500:

Simpsons Comics #238. I am three away from completing this series, something I hope might happen in 2017. One of them was just a few months ago when I forgot to place the monthly comic order. Duh...

Illustrated Reading List 11/2/16

The new comic shipment arrived on the 2nd, and here was the contents of the box, which I promptly read, but didn't get scanned right away.

First comic shipment since Blog's launch!

Today the first comic order since I began Comic Book History arrived. I am reading the fewest number of current comics now than any other time in my life, pretty soon I will be down to 3 new comics a month. Yikes.

These were only 5 this month.  Darth Vader is cancelled after #25, a real shame as it's been the best Star Wars since Disneyfication. Han Solo is only a miniseries, 5 issues. It's not bad, but there's very little depth to it...

This is the order they came out of the box and the order I read them in.

I also got my second issue of Alter Ego and my first of Back Issue, I am looking forward to reading them!
